Problem with sony ericsson battery charging?help?

I have just bought it,but I have problem with charging it.

Battery was half full for the first time and I charged it for the first time when it was empty for 12 hours.Problem is that the signal says that it is fully charged after 2 and half hours. Charger is after two hours cold so I guess that it is not charging the battery after that time.Does it still charging or what?People say that the battery for 3 times should be charged 12 hours at the first time.How should I know that it is still charging the battery after 2,5 hours? Manufacturer doesn%26#39;t say anithing in guide book.

12 hr charging is so tht the phone can perform its best...apparently charging for the first time for 12 hrs straight is the right thing to do.when i first bought my w710i i charged i for like 1 hour only.and trust me the results were not good..so try to stick to 12 hrs for first time charging...And it does not matter if the charger is cold or not.it may still be charging...its cuz the battery is new...it needs more energy than future charges..Goo d Luck and best wishes!
