ok im not really sposed to be txtning on my phone or buying any extra stuff well i bought a pass for the internet and was iming and i dont got free txt msgeing and i dont want my paretns to find out can i go over to my cellular company and jsut pay for my txts.and iming ? and if so when my mom gets the bill will it still show up on it? but i know i could just give her the money for my extra chrges but they think its so dumb to txt n stuff and i dont wanna hear tht again ...even tho id be paying for it ...

Also be careful, ask about there return policy! If your not happy, you probably won%26#39;t be able to get a refund, ask specific questions make sure it works on your carrier, make sure if it has an mp3 player that it also has expandable memory, because an mp3 playing phone is pretty useless if it only holds 3 songs at a time... tesco seem to have a big choice now and I heard asda were entering into mobile selling but haven%26#39;t been to one of those stores for a while

Alltel is absolutely, without a doubt, the worst wireless carrier I have ever had the displeasure of using. I have had more dropped calls with Alltel in 6 months than I had with Cingular in 5 years. It would be hard for Verizon to suck as bad as Alltel. Take it for what it%26#39;s worth. I LOVE my alltel service. I seem to get reception everywhere, except for very few places. Verizon offers a lot too, and may have even more coverage, but I had Verizon wireless broadband and the reception sucked on it. ohh no verizon is wayyyyy better the alltel. I have a Verizon LG... you can%26#39;t get songs from websites cause Verizon%26#39;s stupid like that, but you can record it with the recording thing on your phone, then text it to yourself and save as a ringtone. It worked with my LG VX8500 (chocolate) so I don%26#39;t know how much alike yours is, it should work. It could be possible that Verizon doesn%26#39;t carry or even have that band/song. I use Sprint, and theres some bands and artists that they don%26#39;t have that I want. try zedge.net they have all the ringtones or try limewire.

First of all, you have to know if the phone supports any of the mobile frequency bands being used in Sri Lanka.

Secondly, you have to make sure the phone is unlocked or be able to be unlocked from a carrier. Basically, if you buy a phone locked to Cingular, it will only be able to use SIM cards that can access the Cingular network in the United States. only if its tri or quad band and UNlocked...when u get em from Cingular or whatever theyre locked...but its cheap...u can get ANY phone u want on ebay and unlocked. I recommended to get quad band, they work anywhere in the world just by changing the sim card.

I would get a Krazr, the rezor are really over rated, and I know that they are usually a little more expensive, but with the technology and emeneties, I would get the Krazr! Depends what kind of razor you are getting. What cell company are you getting it from. I work for at%26t and we have regular v3 razors and then the 3g razors which have a mp3 player built into the phone. The regular razor does not. The krazor has a mp3 player built into the phone. Hope this helps a bit I personally don%26#39;t like the krazr - the screen is just too small! I mean, if you%26#39;re gonna get a camera phone, get one with a bigger screen :)

I would suggest the Razor - the V3t - that%26#39;s the newer one and it has more features that the original razor. Plus, it also looks better :) i would say a krazr

omg, are you me? It really does depend on who your service provider is which phone has the best performance, I have a personal phone through Cingular (AT%26T) and my work phone is through Verizon. I find that my Krazr for Cingular was far better than the Krazr for Verzion and my Razr for both companies was just ok at best.

Well good luck with that. Here%26#39;s what I do. I send the song to my phone by e-mail, and then the options allow me to save as ringtone. You could try that. see ur phone%26#39;s user guide..... First of all, you have to make sure that the music or whatever it was, is not exceeding 198kbps ( bit rate ), then copy the track to the phone%26#39;s memory ( if was V3i ), then go to ringing setting from the menu to set the sounds to soft or loud, then you can just set the desired one to be your ringtone , even you can specify a ringtone for each one in your phonebook , by entering the phonebook , and stop by the name you want , click on list button to specify the ringtone you want to him/her, the esiest way to set the ringtone is to get in the list ( settings ) of the music then apply as ..., you%26#39;ll see it , it%26#39;s easy .

In some instances, if you take the battery and any accessories out of the back and let it air out, you may regain some functionality as normal...but don%26#39;t get your hopes too high. I have heard of two things to do a x phone rep told me to put it in the oven at about 200 degreess for about a hour.. and then another told me to use a hair dryer on my phone. Look on the inside behind your battery and see if there is a pink (or another color) dot if there is remove it that is there to see if you try and return it and have dropped it in water it changes colors and they know its been wet. some have them some don%26#39;t. good luck!!

Old style mobile ring tone.?

Then go to the Sons directory/folder. There are many old style ringtones. Check out the Vrai-telephone-1, Vrai-telephone-2, Vrai-telephone-3 ringtones (scroll down once you are in the folder). They are Matrix phone type (the phone ring before they get out of the Matrix and back on the ship) ringers. i think Nokia has it by default. if you don%26#39;t have a Nokia, ask a friend who has it then use your phone recorder to record the sound. after recording, set the recorded track as your ring tone. i%26#39;ve gotten some really cool ringtones at this homepage Click on this to play it to be sure it is what you want.

OmG! SIDEKICK 3!?

OK so I have a T-mobile to go (prepaid) Razr V3. I want to upgrade to the sidekick 3(It%26#39;s awesome!) but I don%26#39;t really know about the monthly plan and all that. So is there a way to get a sidekick and keep my monthly plan at about $45 or even as low as you can with the sidekick data plan and SOME minutes(I do NOT need 1000). Remember if there is a way then I%26#39;ll take it, BE CHEAP, as long as its under $45 a month i get the sidekick :). And is there a way i can transfer my phone number to the sidekick. (I think i still have a few minutes on my razr if anybody knows what will happen to them or if they can me saved)

Also could someone explain the prepaid sidekick pricing the guy at the store said it was a dollar a day? ( I%26#39;m thinking about that too.

Okay, let%26#39;s break it down.

If you wanted to go to a monthly plan, you easily could with the Sidekick 3. If you got the lowest number of minutes (In my area, it is 300 minutes with unlimited WEEKENDS), you could get it for $50 without tax. This would include the Sidekick Unlimited service, which is $20/extra a month. So really, you are looking at about $60/month with tax, MAYBE. I%26#39;m not quite sure, because that isn%26#39;t what I do. Also remember, there is an activation fee, and depending on how long you sign the contract for can affect the price of the phone.

If you want a prepaid Sidekick, it would take a lot of money to do so. You would need $399 (without tax) for the phone itself. Every day, regardless of whether you use it or not, T-Mobile will deduct $1 a day for the Sidekick Unlimited service, plus charge you 15￠ a minute for calls. So as a monthly thing, putting $45 dollars on a prepaid account every month would give you 30-31 days of Sidekick usage AVERAGED, and 90-100 minutes per month in calling. In February, it would be around 28 days of sidekick usage (obviously) and about 113 minute to be used for calls. Also, remember that having a prepaid account gives you an emulated "Rollover" idea - if you don%26#39;t use all of your minutes, you have more for next month!

What you have here is 419,291 bytes transferred which is 409.5 kilobytes. This isn%26#39;t a tremendous amount, but it will be felt on the average bill. As an example Verizon charges two cents per kilobyte so that would make your 409.5 kilobytes cost $8.19. Certainly not a bank breaker, but also surprisingly expensive for such a small amount of data.

Your best bet would be to call up the service provider and give them the ESN so they can track down the owner.

I%26#39;m going to make the assumption that your pc has Bluetooth capability. (I%26#39;m definitely not trying to be insulting by making that statement!) If that answer is "yes", keep going!

1st (and probably my most helpful suggestion), go to the Nokia web site and download their help guide for the PC Suite. I had an older version of the suite with another Nokia that I used. It was a little "persnickety" and I doubt it%26#39;s improved that much since.but maybe I%26#39;m wrong. You can get the pdf here:

2nd: Make sure that your phone is set up to transfer data using Bluetooth. It may also have infrared capability and be set to that. My Nokia used IR and I had to go buy a small IR receiver.

3rd: Based on your question, it may be that the Nokia program didn%26#39;t install some/all of the drivers needed. You might try a re-installation or see if you can add the drivers.

4th: Try going to the mfg of your pc to see if they have an update for the Bluetooth portion of your hardware.

yes, it is still possible to obtain a mobile %26#39;phone on contract without paying an %26#39;up front%26#39; fee.

The down side to this is that, although, generally you can get a bunch of %26#39;free%26#39; calls and/or text messaging time you will be paying for ever, even if you don%26#39;t use the phone much.

This can mean that, overall, you could pay far more by having a %26#39;free%26#39; %26#39;phone than you would by buying a %26#39;phone on a %26#39;pay as you go%26#39; scheme.

There will be a minimum length of contract, usually 12 months, though sometimes longer and you may pay more for %26#39;extra%26#39; calls that take you over the agreed maximum, if any.

So there are a number of things to consider before signing a contract. Some contracts are notoriously difficult to cancel (Orange are particularly bad for this)

There should be a tiny switch on the side of the sd card which unlocks/locks the card so that you don%26#39;t accidentally delete files, you may need to check that this not on locked. ok well here is how u want to try to get the music on there. i had the motorola rzr so go to ur windows media player IF that is what u r using. . then right click ur mouse button on a song u want copied... on that list should say "open containing folder" click that and then it will open up a new page and u can click on the songs u want to copy and to the left there is a lil file list that will have "copy file to" click that and also click the spot where ur card is!! Phone Dropped In Pool?

Ok, so my LG 8300 slipped out of my hand and into a pool. As soon as I noticed it I dived in, grabbed it, jumped out, and took out the battery. I let it dry for a few hours, then took a hair dryer to both the back of the phone and the battery, then I let it sit over a heating vent all night. I went to put the battery back in and try it, but it still wont work. I hold down the red button for the required 3 seconds, and I get the "Verizon Wireless" symbol like always. Then I get an error message saying "Use Genuine Battery. Power Off". Sometimes the screen is white, sometimes the screen is clear. Any help?

BTW, I dont have insurance on it and I have only had it for 6 months.

Since you have Verizon, you should be able to go in and pay atleast $50 for the rep. to get a refurbished one sent to you. You can try replacing the battery and see what happens. Try letting it dry overnight with the battery out. I dropped my cell phone in water and it took almost 24 hours for it to work again. The insides need to completely dry out. Check out this web site for some tips. By the way, even if you had insurance, it usually doesn%26#39;t cover water damage. You%26#39;re beat. The phone is shot. The corrosion the moisture causes instantly will ruin that phone. The chlorine in the water definitely wont help either!

Most of the times like this you should try calling up the phone company,and tell them your problem.Also the problem could be because it is an older phone.That once happened to my mothers phone.Also ask him if ever when hes talking on the phone to someone if he hears fuzzy sounds.That indicates a bad signal/or an old phone.Old phones are about 2-3 years old.HOPE THIS HELPS.Oh and also you can try to go on the internet site of the phone company and ask the question there, but i dont reccomend that, just call them up! I doubt it. My daughter had a cingular phone with us and then got a new verizon phone (the razr) after she moved. She noticed that her sim card would fit in the RAZR so tried to put it in there and ended up having to get a new RAZR. There maybe a way to unlock it but I am unsure how to do that, sorry. Verizon phones do NOT use sim cards, it works on completly different technology.

Bring the phone into a Verizon store, Verizon will be able to lookup the owner of the phone and return it.

The phone is worthless, it will only work for Verizon service and I am sure by now the phone has been blocked. Again, just drop it off at a Verizon store, I am sure the owner will be happy Unfortunately no.

Cingular uses a GSM network while Verizon uses CDMA. These networks are incompatible.

None of the mobile phone manufacturers cover such user accidental damage within their guarantees, that I know.

Your home insurance may cover damage or loss of personal possessions, away from home etc., so check this.

Otherwise, you may be able to upgrade already, if you really want to stay with your current network. As an alternative, you could use a cheap pay as you go phone, from the same network, or unlocked so that it will work on your network.

My neck is on the line if I don%26#39;t sort this problem out. My phone is the Samsung D840 ( a slide phone). It%26#39;s been in my bag for a couple of days, out of charge. hi would really appreciate if anyone could help me out here.

a few days ago i dropped my phone (samsung d600e) and the battery flew out etc... put it back together and it worked fine. About 3 hours later the battery went (i%26#39;d bin textin sum1 all night so i expeted it to anyways). When i put my phone on charge absolutely nothing happened, like the phone doesn%26#39;t recognise its on charge so right now it%26#39;s completely useless. Managed to turn it on for a few seconds and the screen kept flashing at me.

Was wondering whether anyone could deduce whether this is a battery problem or a phone problem. I put my simcard into my other phone (samsung e900 - never used cos touchscreen drives me mad) and it%26#39;s fine. I%26#39;m not really bothered about the other phone i just want to get my photos and videos off of it somehow. they weren%26#39;t saved to my sim unfortunately. Is there any service that can extract the photos etc.. or any advice??

well u can very well take the pic%26#39;s and videos from the cell if u have stored it in the memory card.. just connect the memory card to the computer and u can save it..

i think there must be some kind of loose joints in the phone due to the shock of the fall.. i would recon to take it to the service center and it could be solved.

the battery do not suffer major problems durin the fall.. it ought to be the phone mother board... so i would strongly recommend to take it to the service center.

The simple answer is the O2 and Orange network work on different frequencies. Orange on 1800Mhz and O2 on 900Mhz, it is probably the different frequency that is the cause of the "speaker chirping" which incidentally is the phone performing location update messages with the network so it knows where to send any calls to you, or activity such as texts and calls.

just say the screen was broken before u got it..i told em my housing just cracked open, so they got me a new housing you should be able to if you have a warranty. if you have a warranty, then you pay $50 and get a new one. otherwise, see if they have a refurbished phone. chances are that YOU broke the screen, it%26#39;s not a manufacturers problem. ask verizon.

I desperatley need to unlock my Nokia 6682 on Cingular service.

I need a phone code to unlock it. I%26#39;ve never done this before but I%26#39;m quite handy* so I think I could do it my self?

Phone wont let me SEND texts. I get "service unavailable code:00097"?

i can get texts though. i can receive and make calls. but i cant send a text. and i can send picture mail. and i get an error message that says "service unavailable code: 00097"

is there any way to fix it w/o calling sprint?

My phone says something like that when I try to send a text, but it is because I do not have text messaging anymore. Perhaps that is it.
