I%26#39;ve done a bit of work with cell phone ringtones, and it seems that you need a WAP-enabled phone for such an exchange. If you don%26#39;t have a data plan with Tracfone (not sure if they even offer one), you can%26#39;t receive a ringtone through text message -- unless it%26#39;s a monotone (like your PC speaker).
Now, if you have a WAP-enabled phone, but just can%26#39;t use the web browser, check out the two sites listed below. You can find plenty free when you sign up there.
But if you don%26#39;t have WAP, you%26#39;re SOL. what i used to do is browse walmart.com, go to the music section, then find what song i want, listen to the previews and when i found a song i liked, id get the URL for the demo, highlight it and send it as a text message to my phone. it would automatically download it. www.myxertones.com is free and even better, you can upload music from your own collection, convert it, and it will send it to your phone as a text message to use and again, all free.i have several favorite unknown or hard to find songs as my ring tones...i love this site! get the free ringtones %26mms etc from the site www.mobiledownloads4u.com
