is verizon lying to me?
i dropped my phone in a glass of water and it wouldnt turn back on, so i went to verizon to get a new phone, and they%26#39;re trying to charge me $$219$$ for any phone i get. is that right?
Answer:
not all the phones should cost 219, some should be less costly than others because of the features and some should be more expensive than others. I would call back again, maybe the guy you talked to before was new and did not charge the right price. hope this is helpful! my husband washed his in the washer pulled it out and took it apart and dried the sim card and it works fine.we didn%26#39;t even try to turn it in.if you don%26#39;t have the phone insurence then yes you have to pay. yes it is. cell phone companies don%26#39;t make money off the phones but off the actual service. i sell sale phones and we pay the retail price on the phones so if somesone phone goes bad we sell it at our cost to them which is generally $150 and up. Check to see if you had a protection plan or insurance. that may cover it. I%26#39;ve had a similar problem like yours. sometimes if you let it sit out and take off the battery they will dry out and work. But not always Other things can happen to phones and they usually take them back but not when they are dropped in water sadly. I know this because my sister dropped hers in a toilet. You can get insurance on your phone if you pay 5 dollars or so per month.
If you get your phone wet, turn it off immediately!
Then you should have someone who knows about phones take it apart immediately for you.
and then let it set and dry for a day or two. if you don%26#39;t have insurance you do have to pay. if you do, you get the same phone or a phone cheaper of your choice
