New phone, kinda?

well im switching from one razr to another. but the thing is the new razr was through t-mobile and i use cingular. is this gonna cause an issue? and the phone says to contact service provider, does that mean my provider or t-mobile provider?

The phone your aunt has given you is locked to T-Mobile service, you are trying to use it with a Cingular sim. For this phone to work with Cingular, you will have to have the phone unlocked. Once unlocked, the phone will work with any carriers sim.

If you aunt still has T-Mobile service, have her call T-Mobile and request the "subsidy Code" for that phone. This is something you can not do, your aunt will have to do it. She has to tell them she will be traveling overseas and will be using that countrys sim card. They will ask her for the IMEI# of the phone. Once they give her the code, you can unlock it and pop in your Cingular sim.

Other option is to just bring it to a local independent phone shop, ask them to unlock it, cost is about $20.00

Once you have it unlocked, you will be able to call and text, if you want to use it for internet, you will have to change the GPRS settings to Cingular

TOODLES,%26lt;3,HAILEY W, XOXO just call them and tell them u want to canclle i dont get the question you need to contact your new provider and have them connect it for you under your name and they can even tranfer your contact for your from your old phone to your new phone but that will cost. Well.. it sounds like you still want to continue to use your Cingular service with you new razor. Well you will need to call into Tmobile and ask them to unlock your new phone. If they refuse to, you will need to have your Aunt cal in and ask for it to be unlocked. They will normally only unlock phones for current customers only. Its a tricky situation but it can get resolved as long as your get your phone unlocked. Ring t mobile within 24hrs you will be up running, they will listen to you and give you plenty of help. I will give you a tip.when you ring them, the first message will ask you to press 5 DONT!. The recorded message will ask you to press other numbers DONT! Just press 0 its a shortcut! Good luck!
