N95 GPS Question for owners?

When you click %26#39;maps%26#39; on the menu and the globe appears. The right button on screen says %26#39;GPS Pos,%26#39; with a picture of a satalite.

Can you tell me that if you press this button should the phone identify where you are as mine doesn%26#39;t and the satalite has red cross on it.

Thanks

Answer:

Slide the phone open exposing the key pad. Put it at an angle of about 45 degrees to the horizontal and wait for a short time say a minute (might take longer). Make sure you are outdoors and you have a clear view of the sky with no obstructions. The red cross should disappear and when you press "GPS Pos" key the position you are at should be the one shown on the screen.

The red cross means that GPS connection has not been established between phone and satellites. The GPS can take quite a while to pick up the signals from the satellites, also you need to be out in the open air as GPS doesn%26#39;t like obstructions between the receiver and the satellite, just air.
